QUEBEC IMMIGRANT INVESTOR PROGRAM: REOPENING SEPTEMBER 2014

We are very pleased to announce that the Quebec immigrant Investor program is reopening in September 2014, as announced in the Gazette Officielle du Québec, March 26, 2014.

The MICC will proceed with the reopening as follows:
  • From the 8th to the 19th of September, 2014 the MICC will accept up to 1,750 applications. A maximum of 1,200 for any country.

  • If this quota is not reached by September 19th, 2014, the MICC will reopen from the 1st to the 12th of December, 2014.

  • The same lottery system will apply.

  • All applications must be sent to the Minister by regular postal mail only. The stamp of the Ministère will be evidence of the date of receipt of the application by the Minister.

  • An applicant submitting more than one application under the Investor Category during this timeframe will have all the immigrant investor applications rejected and returned to him/her.

CANDIDATES WITH AN INTERMEDIATE KNOWLEDGE OF FRENCH

Important Note:  Applications submitted by candidates that can demonstrate an advanced intermediate level of French (B2), as demonstrated by a standardized test, are not subject to the above period of intake and can file at any time during the current year up to March 31, 2014.

These applications will have priority processing.

IMMIGRATION PROGRAM FOR SKILLED WORKERS

The quota fixed for the Skilled Workers as of April 1, 2014 is 6,500 applications, all additional applications will be returned to the candidates.

This maximum number of applications does not apply if:
  • you submit an application under the Québec experience program (Programme de l'expérience québécoise);

  • you have a valid employment offer in hand;

  • Citizenship and Immigration Canada has informed you that it has agreed to process your application for permanent residence in Canada;

  • you are a temporary resident and eligible to submit an application for a Certificat de sélection du Québec.
ORDER OF PRIORITY FOR PROCESSING APPLICATIONS

As of April 1, 2014, applications will be processed in the following order:

  • applications from candidates submitted under the Québec experience program (Programme de l'expérience québécoise);

  • applications from candidates who submit a valid employment offer;

  • applications from candidates who obtain points under the factor Area of training;

  • any other application submitted by permanent workers.

ENTREPRENEUR AND SELF-EMPLOYED WORKER PROGRAM

The quota fixed for the Entrepreneur Program as of April 1st, 2014 is 500 applications, all additional applications will be returned to the candidates.
