NEW QUEBEC IMMIGRANT INVESTOR FORMS
New Quebec Immigrant Investor Program Forms

Further to our Newsletters, the MICC has released four new forms under the Quebec Immigrant investor Program. There is a revised Application for Selection Certificate - Investor: Principal Applicant and spouse or de facto spouse and Application for Selection Certificate: Dependent child aged 22 or older or who is married or a de facto spouse.

Applicants should also provide the Mandate (French), nominating their authorized consultant. In addition, they have updated their Procuration - Mandat d'autorisation de communiquer des renseignements personnels (French).

These new forms can be found on our website at www.canadaiip.com

QUEBEC REGULATION OF IMMIGRATION
Quebec regulation of immigration consultants in force

Although we have already discussed Quebec's new regulation concerning immigration consultants, we wanted to reiterate certain key points that came in force on February 2, 2010:
  • If the applicant has already received the invitation for a selection interview prior to February 2nd, communications by the MICC will continue with the consultant on file, whether they are an authorized or non-authorized consultant;

  • If the applicant's consultant is authorized by Quebec and listed in the MICC registry, the MICC will continue communication with the authorized consultant;

  • If the applicant's consultant is not authorized by Quebec and not registered by MICC, the MICC will, as of February 2, 2010, contact the applicant directly, ignoring the consultant named in the file. The applicant will be given the opportunity by MICC to mandate another consultant from the registry or continue the process individually.
For information on how to register with the Government of Quebec please see our Newsletter dated October 22, 2010 (Regulation impacts on immigration consultants practicing in Quebec).

Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss how to change the mandates on your immigration investor files.
