Further to the meeting with the MICC last week, we were advised of the following:

• As of February 2, 2011, there will be a new Application for Selection Certificate - Investor. We will advise you as soon as it is available.
  
  
• Further to our Newsletter of November, we would like to advise you that the MICC has now announced that the Regulation on Immigration Consultants Practicing in Quebec, will be retroactive.  Therefore, as of February 2, 2011 if the consultant is not recognized under the Regulation, the MICC will contact the immigrant directly and send a copy to the financial intermediary.  

In addition, there will be a new form for the Recognized consultants to submit with each application. We will advise you as soon as it is available.

Fees levied by the MICC will be increased

As of January 1, 2010, all fees levied by the MICC will be increased.

Please consult the table below for the new fee schedule.

The fees which are payable in Canadian currency only must be paid in full at the time the application is dropped off or mailed. These fees are not reimbursed, even in the event your application is refused.

These fees do not include charges by the Canadian government   to process an application for permanent residence or application for a work   permit.

2010 Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) tabled in Parliament on November 1st the 2010 Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration, which includes the 2011 Immigration Levels Plan.
